PERFORMANCES
NGI partners with mission-aligned US-based organizations to select works by emerging composers for performance by AMP.
2025 Season:
NGI partnered with Bloomingdale School of Music’s A4TY program to select pieces by two A4TY alums for performance. Zuri Bridges’ “A Stroll in the Park” (*world premiere) will be performed by Chelsea Randall at BSM on Jan 24, and Sena Ahouandjinou’s “Splash Fight” (*world premiere) will be performed as part of a lecture-recital Celebrating Young Women Composers on March 28 at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, NY.
NGI partnered with Luna Composition Lab to select pieces by two LCL alums for performance. Jordan Millar’s “Evergreen” (*world premiere) and Ebun Oguntola’s “Quarantina” (*world premiere) will be performed by Chelsea Randall at BKCM on March 28.
NGI partnered with Wildflower Composers to select pieces by three WC alums for performance. Mena Williams’ “Modern Minuet” (*world premiere) will be performed by Chelsea Randall at BSM on Jan 24, and at Newark School of the Arts on Feb. 15. KiMani Bridges' "Pith" (*world premiere) will be performed on March 28 at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and Chloe Clark Smith’s “The Forest” will be performed at NSA on Feb. 15 and at BKCM on March 28.
COMMISSIONS
The Next Generation Commissioning Prize awards one composer under 25 $500 to write a 5-8 minute solo piano piece, which is premiered and recorded by AMP during the upcoming season. The inaugural Commissioning Prize will launch in spring, '25.
CALL FOR SCORES
Winners have their previously composed pieces performed and recorded by AMP during the upcoming season.
2025 Season:
AMP’s 2024 Call for Scores Winners Lawren Brianna Ware, Brittney Benton and Lilyanne Dorilas will have their winning pieces performed during AMP’s ‘25 season. Ware’s “Borealis” will be performed by Chelsea Randall at Bloomingdale School of Music on Jan. 24th, and on March 28th at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Dorilas’ “Black Amber” and Brittney Benton’s “Piano Collections Vl. II” will be performed at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music on March 28th.
